Rome, 18 July (LaPresse) – Kimi Antonelli has secured pole position for the Belgian Grand Prix, the tenth round of the F1 World Championship. The Mercedes driver, who leads the World Championship, clocked a time of 1’44″361 to finish ahead of Max Verstappen’s Red Bull. Lando Norris was third in his McLaren, but the British driver will drop 10 places on the grid due to a penalty for using his fourth ECU. This is the Bologna-born driver’s sixth career pole position. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is fifth but, with Norris’s penalty, will start from the second row. Hamilton’s other Ferrari, in sixth place, will start fifth on the grid. Leclerc complained about a yellow flag being waved by a steward right in front of him as he was aiming for a final push on his lap. Hadjar had parked his Red Bull at the entrance to the pit lane, hence the yellow flag. It leaves a bitter taste for Leclerc, who could have been in contention for a front-row start.
