Bunia (Democratic Republic of the Congo), 20 July (LaPresse) – At least 930 people have died in the Ebola outbreak in the Congo, according to the country’s Ministry of Health. The deaths were recorded amongst the 2,344 confirmed cases as of Saturday. The Ministry announced this overnight. In the last 24 hours, 37 new deaths have been recorded. The Ebola outbreak, declared on 15 May in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is spreading rapidly. The Bundibugyo virus, responsible for the outbreak, is less common than other strains that cause the disease, and there are no approved vaccines or treatments to combat it.
