Rome, 20 July (LaPresse) – The Bologna Public Prosecutor’s Office has clarified that the investigation into the death of Abderrahim Fakir – the 43-year-old who died yesterday in Pilastro during a police operation in which he was pinned to the ground and handcuffed – will take into account “the entire sequence of events”, which is said to have spanned “a longer period of time than the video circulated online to date, which has also been obtained by this Office” . The video footage circulated so far, therefore, represents only part of the sequence of events under investigation. Investigators are gathering and analysing further evidence to reconstruct all stages of the operation. The investigation will also examine “the actions of both law enforcement officers and medical staff”. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has stated that its aim is to arrive at a “complete and exhaustive reconstruction of the facts”.
