Milan, 20 July (LaPresse) – The Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office “has applied for (and obtained) a preventive seizure, to secure legal costs, of the sum of 50,000 euros, which was the subject of a bank transfer from the current account of the ‘#iostoconmarioroggero’ Committee to a Tunisian bank account held in the names of” Mario Roggero and his wife, Mariangela Sandrone, “prior to the hearing of the appeal”. This is stated in a note from the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office, signed by Chief Public Prosecutor Lucia Musti, regarding the “case generically referred to as ‘compensation for damages’”. In the note, the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office recalls that “the Court of Assizes of Asti, in a judgement upheld on this point on appeal, ordered, as is always the case in similar situations, Mario Roggero to pay provisional damages totalling €480,000 to 14 close relatives of the two robbers – victims of the murder – as well as to the third robber, a victim of attempted murder, whilst referring the final quantification of damages to a separate civil proceeding”.
