New York (New York, USA), 22 July (LaPresse) – The Mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani, stated in a video posted late last night on the social media platform X that the city would not be able to execute the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “It is clear that we do not have the independent legal authority to execute this warrant,” said Mamdani, “the federal government, however, does have it, and I urge it to join the International Criminal Court (ICC) and to execute this warrant.” In his video message, Mamdani clarified that his administration had examined all available options and concluded that the city cannot execute the arrest warrant. “I want to be equally clear,” he emphasised, “Benjamin Netanyahu is not welcome in New York City, nor is any other fugitive war criminal.”
