Rome, 22 July (LaPresse) – A 63-year-old Italian man has been reported by the Carabinieri of the Crespellano station to the Bologna Public Prosecutor’s Office for unlawful possession of weapons, unauthorised practice of a profession, and dangerous ignition and explosions. In the early hours of 19 July, he had driven off a group of criminals during an attempted burglary at an electromechanical company in Crespellano, in the Bologna area. Investigations by the Carabinieri revealed that the man did not hold the prefectural decree required to work as a private security guard and that his firearms licence for personal defence had expired in 2014. The Carabinieri also seized the revolver used in the incident and five other firearms (two rifles and three pistols), which were duly registered and stored at the 63-year-old’s home.
