The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced in a statement that Caterina Montella, the coach’s sister, had died following an accident at her home. “It is with deep sorrow that we have learnt of the passing of Caterina Montella, sister of our national team manager, Vincenzo Montella, who died in hospital following a tragic domestic accident. Caterina Montella’s funeral will take place today at 4.30 pm (local time) at the Church of St Nicholas in Castello di Cisterna, Naples. On behalf of the Turkish Football Federation, we extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Caterina Montella, in particular to our national team manager,” reads the statement from the Turkish federation.
