The German Football Association announced this on its social media channels, complete with a photo of the former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager already wearing the national team kit. Peter Krawietz, Pepijn Lijnders and Sven Bender will be his assistants. The announcement was made today in Frankfurt. “Welcome to the DFB! We can’t wait to have you with us!”, the message continued. Klopp “has signed a four-year contract and will lead the national team at the 2028 UEFA European Championship and the 2030 FIFA World Cup. On 15 August 2026, Klopp will succeed Julian Nagelsmann, who resigned as national team manager on 3 July following Germany’s elimination from the World Cup at the hands of Paraguay.”
