Milan, 24 July (LaPresse) – The Italian economy is set to grow by 0.5 per cent this year and in 2027, reaching +0.8 per cent in 2028. These are the estimates presented in the International Monetary Fund’s Article IV report on Italy. It is emphasised that in 2025, real GDP grew by 0.5 per cent, “partly thanks to the ongoing investments provided for in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan”. Fiscal consolidation “has continued to make progress, with a further strengthening of the primary surplus”, but nevertheless “public debt remains too high and vulnerable to shocks in interest rates and growth”.
