And the third time will be even better.” So said US President Donald Trump on Friday evening at the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, delivering a rambling one-hour speech in which he praised some journalists, took aim at others, made jokes about the weight and intelligence of public figures, and joked about a third presidential term. Trump added: “I’m just joking.” Then, at the end, he pulled on a red cap bearing the words “Trump 2028” and dropped the “bombshell” that he would stand for election again.
