Rome, 25 July (LaPresse) – “The mechanism of variable excise duties effectively allows the additional VAT revenue to be used to cap fuel prices. And this is one of the solutions being considered, alongside others which must in any case be assessed, targeted and made effective – such as the one already in force in the road haulage sector through the tax credit.” This was the response from Adolfo Urso, Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, speaking on Tgcom24, to a question about the measures the government is considering to tackle rising fuel prices. In any case, Urso explained, “this is an assessment being carried out by the relevant ministry, namely the Ministry of the Economy, led by Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti”.
