Iran: six ships intercepted in the Strait of Hormuz

Turin, 27 July (LaPresse) – Six ships have been intercepted by the Iranian authorities in the Strait of Hormuz. According to Iranian media reports, citing informed sources, six ships with their navigation and positioning systems switched off – and at the instigation of the US military – were intending to cross the ‘illegal and dangerous route south of the Strait of Hormuz’. One of these ships was involved in an incident and the other five were turned back. “As previously announced, the navigation route through the Strait of Hormuz is that specified by the Islamic Republic, whilst the other routes are contaminated and lead nowhere,” reports the Iranian state news agency.
