However, every time I’ve met her, I’ve always got the impression that she wouldn’t shy away from taking part in the primaries if necessary.” These were the words of the Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, speaking on the sidelines of the ceremony commemorating the Via Palestro massacre. “The stakes in 2027 are perhaps higher than they have ever been in our country’s recent history. Because the major cities are all going to the polls at the same time, because there is a vote for a new government, and because the groundwork is being laid for the new President of the Republic. That is why I believe that, in recent decades, 2027 will be the most important year of all from an electoral perspective – and therefore in terms of choosing our representatives.
