Excise duties, Giorgetti: ‘The measure is worth 125 million; no increases on tobacco products’

Rome, 27 July (LaPresse) – “The measure is worth €125 million in excise duty relief. Part of the funding comes from variable excise duties, but only for the previous month, as we are waiting until early August to use July’s revenue; part comes from antitrust fines; and part from the fund for structural economic policy measures. We have not made any changes to excise duties on tobacco.” So said Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti at a press conference following the Council of Ministers meeting.
