Rome, 28 July (LaPresse) – The Russian capital and the Moscow region were targeted by a drone attack on the morning of Tuesday 28 July. According to a statement by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on Telegram, as reported by local media, Russian air defence systems shot down several unmanned aerial vehicles heading towards the city. The first update came at around 4.38 am, when Sobyanin announced that 12 drones had been shot down by the Ministry of Defence’s air defence systems. The mayor subsequently issued further updates, reporting new operations against drones detected in the capital’s vicinity. According to Russian sources and OSINT monitoring channels, a total of around a hundred drones were intercepted by the air defence systems, with the drones approaching from various directions around Moscow.
