Turin, Jul. 29 (LaPresse) – The Carabinieri operational unit of the Pinerolo company, in the province of Turin, reopened a ‘cold case’, bringing the perpetrators of the murder of Giovanni Bruno to justice. Bruno, the owner of a bar and tobacco shop in Pinerolo, was robbed on June 4, 2013, by three criminals, one of whom fired several gunshots at him, killing him. Fourteen years later, investigators from the Carabinieri, under the coordination of the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office, through a meticulous investigation, managed to reopen the case and identify with certainty the three perpetrators, one of whom died eight years ago. For the other two, based on the evidence collected, precautionary measures were requested. The first of the two, a 79-year-old man of Sardinian origin known to law enforcement, was arrested on July 27: identified and apprehended in Turin, he was taken to the “Lorusso e Cutugno” prison. The same fate befell his accomplice, a 53-year-old man from Turin, also known to law enforcement, who was located and arrested the following day. He too was taken to prison.
