US: Pentagon awards Lockheed Martin a 59 billion contract for the Patriot system

Milan, 30 July (LaPresse) – The US government has awarded Lockheed Martin a multi-year contract worth a total of $58.62 billion to boost production of the PAC-3 MSE, an interceptor missile used by the Patriot air defence system, and to triple its capacity by the end of 2030. The contract will also lead to a 50 per cent increase in jobs, from 1,200 to around 1,850, in Camden, Arkansas, alone – the site of Lockheed Martin’s final assembly of the PAC-3 MSE interceptors. This was announced by the company in a press release.
