Milan, July 31 (LaPresse) – Intesa Sanpaolo, through its IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, has participated, together with a pool of banks, in green financing lines totaling AUD 1.4 billion for Vena Energy to support photovoltaic plants and battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Australia. The transaction, explained a press release from Intesa Sanpaolo, is structured into two separate transactions that combine the financing of new (greenfield) projects with the refinancing of existing credit lines. The photovoltaic systems included in the financing are intended to produce enough renewable energy to cover the equivalent annual electricity needs of approximately 198,000 Australian households, while avoiding over one million tons of CO2 emissions annually. Vena Energy is a leading operator in the Asia-Pacific region developing green energy solutions. The transaction “confirms Intesa Sanpaolo’s commitment, led by CEO Carlo Messina, to supporting the energy transition by financing renewable energy infrastructure with a positive environmental impact. Through its IMI CIB Division, the Group continues to support leading international clients in the implementation of projects that promote sustainable growth and decarbonization.”
