Rome, 1 August (LaPresse) – The 2026 edition of Terra, the AVS National Festival – which will take place in Rome at the Città dell’Altra Economia from 6 to 13 September – promises to be packed with events, high-profile Italian and international guests, and opportunities to learn about the red-green agenda and engage with leading figures from Italian politics and society. In addition to performances, artistic interventions and the chance to eat and drink at the festival’s various stalls, the week-long festival will represent a further collective contribution from AVS, building on its commitment to social and environmental justice, to shaping the programme and ideas of the progressive alliance, and to forging an alternative to the right-wing government currently in power. On the very first day, Sunday 6 September, with Jeremy Corbyn in attendance, the issue of growing inequality and the unscrupulous enrichment of the few will be at the centre of the debate. The plight of the Palestinian people and the geopolitical crisis in the Middle East will, meanwhile, be the focus of the discussion with Francesca Albanese on Monday 7 September. On Tuesday 8, as previously announced, Angelo Bonelli, Giuseppe Conte, Nicola Fratoianni and Elly Schlein will take part in a debate. On Wednesday 9 September, the festival will first host the Spanish Minister for Culture, Ernest Urtasun; then, addressing the plight faced by millions of families whose wages are increasingly insufficient to make ends meet, the trade union leaders of CGIL and UIL, Landini and Bombardieri, will take to the stage. There will also be events and discussions on environmental issues and the ecological transition, as well as the climate emergency we are currently facing.
