Rome, Aug. 2 (LaPresse) – “Forty-six years ago, terrorism launched one of its most brutal attacks. It struck the entire nation at its heart, with an attack that destroyed Bologna railway station, killing 85 people and injuring more than 200. What happened on August 2, 1980, represents one of the darkest and most dramatic chapters in our national history. Today we once again stand with the victims’ families and all the people of Bologna on this day of mourning and remembrance.” Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said this. “The Government will continue to do its part in the complex process that must be pursued to fully shed light on the massacres that bloodied Italy in the post-war period. In this context, the process of transferring declassified documents to the Central State Archive represents a decisive step, which the Prime Minister’s Office is carrying out in synergy with other state administrations and in a spirit of cooperation with the victims’ families’ associations,” the prime minister added.
