(LaPresse) – After a delay of more than 24 hours from the scheduled start on Sunday, and following three hours of actual play, Matteo Berrettini was knocked out in the first round of the National Bank Open presented by Rogers, the Canadian Masters 1000 tournament taking place this year at the IGA Stadium in Montreal. The Italian, a former world number 6 and currently ranked 40th, was defeated 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-3 by Argentina’s Mariano Navone, ranked 44th, who beat him for the first time in his career.
