Turin, Aug. 4 (LaPresse) – Italy was the star of the women’s 10 km event at the European Open Water Swimming Championships currently underway in Paris. Ginevra Taddeucci, who won bronze in this distance two years ago at the Olympics, triumphed in the race held along the Seine with a time of 2:07.49.90, pulling away in the final kilometer to open an insurmountable lead over her rivals. Also on the podium was Linda Caponi, who finished third, 13.58 seconds behind her compatriot. The silver medal went to Hungary’s Viktoria Mihályvári-Farkas, who finished 9.71 seconds behind Taddeucci.
