Milan, 5 August (LaPresse) – Neva SGR, the Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s venture capital firm and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Centre, has invested through its Neva II Fund in Straiker, a US-based company that develops ‘AI-native’ solutions to enable businesses to adopt Agentic AI safely. Neva SGR participated in Straiker’s $64 million Series A funding round, co-investing alongside leading international funds. The transaction brings the total capital raised by the California-based company to $85 million. Straiker has developed a platform that enables companies to identify, test and protect artificial intelligence agents – advanced software systems which, once given a task, plan and operate autonomously. The significant opportunities arising from the use of AI agents are accompanied by new risks that are unforeseen and therefore cannot be managed by control systems designed for traditional software. The more useful and complex these agents become for a company, the more dangerous they can become, as they expand the attack surface in ways that yesterday’s solutions struggle to manage.
