Delmastro case: Nordio says, “I see no grounds for an appeal to the Constitutional Court”

Rome, 5 Aug. (LaPresse) – Did the Chair of the Authorisations Committee say he was considering referring the Delmastro case to the Constitutional Court? “The opposition has the right to request whatever it wishes, and the Constitutional Court will then decide in accordance with the rules of law. However, the constitutional prerogatives of a Member of Parliament are set out in the constitutional laws and are very clear. Therefore, it is not clear on what grounds such an appeal could be considered or otherwise.” So said Justice Minister Carlo Nordio when approached by reporters in the Chamber of Deputies.
