According to LaPresse, the alarm was raised after an identical email was received by all four venues, with the subject line ‘Read urgently’. In the text, amidst disjointed sentences, the author wrote that they had planted several explosive devices and hoped to cause as many casualties as possible. They then asked to meet the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. Investigations by the police are ongoing.
