Rome, Aug. 8 (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that in the Russian attack on Pukhivka, in the Kyiv region, the victims were a three-year-old child and his grandparents. “Four other people were hospitalized: the child’s parents, his 15-year-old brother and a neighbour who had rushed to help the family”, “the victims suffered burns and shrapnel wounds”, the Ukrainian leader continued on X, saying that the building hit was “an ordinary residential building” and that the Russians could not have been unaware of this. Zelensky then renewed his appeal to tighten sanctions against Russia and provide Kyiv with “anti-ballistic capabilities”, including Patriot missiles. “Europe, America and Ukraine have long wanted to end this war. Only Putin does not want this, and he desperately clings to his ballistic missiles and drones to continue the conflict. More pressure is needed. New sanctions to prevent the production of these ballistic missiles. And we definitely need greater protection for our people, anti-ballistic capabilities”, Zelensky wrote on X.
