Rome, August 8 (LaPresse) – Carabinieri officers from Arese, together with those from the Mobile Radio Unit of the Rho Company in the Milan area, arrested four minors in flagrante delicto for kidnapping for extortion purposes and conspiracy to commit robbery, illegal possession of a weapon, and assault. They were a 15-year-old, a 16-year-old, and two 17-year-olds, all born in Italy. The four minors, along with other accomplices currently being identified, while inside the Blu park on Viale Sempione in Arese, approached two 19-year-old Italians and, threatening them with a machete, forcibly removed one of them, hooding him. At the same time, they ordered the other victim to provide them with drugs, threatening to kill the hostage if he did not. The young man, frightened by the imminent danger to which his friend was exposed, instead rushed to the Arese Carabinieri station and reported the incident. The Arese Carabinieri, together with officers from the Rho Company’s Mobile Radio Unit, thanks to the victim’s statements and the analysis of his cell phone, were able to pinpoint the location of the crime—another public park—and located and apprehended the attackers, who had meanwhile fled into the adjacent streets. At the same location, officers located and rescued the victim, who was found with a plastic bag over her head, stripped of all her personal belongings, and suffering from various injuries. The injuries were later determined to heal within six days by the emergency room of Garbagnate Milanese Hospital. At the end of the operation, the four arrested individuals, on orders from the Milan Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, were taken to the Beccaria Juvenile Correctional Institution in Milan. Further investigations are currently underway, carried out in coordination with the Juvenile Court, aimed at identifying other individuals involved and fully reconstructing the events that preceded the meeting between the young people and the kidnapping.
