Milan, August 8 (LaPresse) – “Today I spoke with both the Spanish and Italian Interior Ministers. Both confirmed that internal border controls are temporary. I emphasized the progress made in the fight against illegal immigration and that trust between member states is our most precious resource.” This was stated in a post on social media X by EU Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner. “The Spanish authorities have assured us that the events in Ceuta will not have lasting repercussions on the Schengen area,” he added, “which is why signals are coming from Italy that the controls could soon be lifted.”
