Rome, 9 Aug. (LaPresse) – ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ continues to fly high, and the Marvel-Sony Pictures superhero blockbuster starring Tom Holland and Zendaya has further cause for celebration following its second weekend at the box office. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, took $43 million on Friday, on course to reach $143 million in its second weekend and remain at the top of the charts, despite a drop of around 60 per cent over the weekend. If this forecast proves accurate, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ would claim the third-best second weekend of all time in the US. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the studio estimates that the film will bring its North American total to $653 million by Sunday, setting the record for 10-day takings in the US.
