Madrid (Spain), Aug. 10 (LaPresse) – Spain’s Minister for Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Angel Víctor Torres, visiting Ceuta, said that at least 1,400 migrant minors are estimated to be present in the enclave. Torres was keen to stress that this is not a definitive figure. The minister said that the situation in which the minors find themselves is “unacceptable” and that the government is working to resolve the emergency. The government, he said, is prioritising family reunifications, a measure that is not easy to implement as it also depends on the minors’ country of origin and on the families themselves. Torres said that, to deal with the situation, the team of the central government’s delegation in Ceuta has been strengthened, as has the presence of the national police, the army and the Guardia Civil. The minister then sent a message of solidarity to the people of Ceuta.
