Milan, 10 Aug. (LaPresse) – The Russian Supreme Court has barred the opposition party Yabloko from the upcoming Duma elections following an appeal lodged by the Rodina party. This was reported by the Tass news agency. “Rodina’s appeal is upheld in full,” reads the court’s ruling. Rodina had accused Yabloko of a series of offences, including copyright infringement, illegal election campaigning and support for extremism. The case was heard by Judge Vyacheslav Kirillov, the same judge who had declared the International Memorial Society an ‘extremist’ organisation in the spring.
