Madrid (Spain), 12 Aug. (LaPresse) – Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska has given assurances that Spain is ‘prepared to prevent and avert another mass influx’ of migrants into Ceuta. “We are carrying out important work alongside Morocco; we have the resources and capabilities to prevent a repeat of what happened on 30 July,” the minister said at a press briefing. Marlaska stated that they are “monitoring the internet and social media” and that there is a continuous exchange of information with Morocco. “We are taking this seriously; we are checking for any movements of people within Morocco. Rabat is doing important work and is putting border protection measures in place,” added the minister, when asked about the possibility of a new mass arrival of migrants on Saturday 15 August.
