Roma, Aug. 13 (LaPresse) – After the IDF ordered the evacuation of 15 Palestinian homes in the town of Qusra, in the West Bank, the army backtracked, saying that no Palestinians will be removed from their homes as long as troops remain operational in the area, following the construction of an outpost by settlers in the area. The Times of Israel reported this. Israeli troops have been operating in Qusra since this morning “to protect residents and maintain security in the area,” the army said, adding that “the forces” have “been ordered to allow the villagers to remain in their homes.” Extremist settlers, according to witnesses and Arab and Israeli media reports, began besieging several Palestinian family homes in Qusra on Sunday. A Palestinian-American family was also among those involved. The U.S. Embassy subsequently took an interest in the case.
