Milan, 15 Aug. (LaPresse) – There are currently around 5,000 Italians registered as being in Indonesia, 500 of whom are on the island of Flores. This has been reported by sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who added that the crisis unit has stepped up its operations and is offering assistance to citizens who get in touch and request it. An earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale struck the Indonesian island of Flores at 5.58 am local time, and the death toll reported by local authorities currently stands at 47. The sources confirm that there are no Italians amongst the victims.
