Two Italian runners finished in the top eight, with Rebecca Lonedo coming sixth in 2h27’55‘ and Sofiia Yaremchuk seventh in 2h28’02’. Giovanna Epis’s 21st place in 2h33’02‘ proved crucial to the silver medal. Gold went to Great Britain (7h26’01’), ahead of Italy (7h28’59‘) and Spain (7h30’41’).
