This is according to The New York Times (NYT), which reports that diplomats from France, Germany and the United Kingdom are working on a framework for future negotiations, even though Russia has shown little interest. “Concerned that President Trump might exclude them from any talks to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, three European countries are collaborating to ensure that Europe has a seat at the negotiating table, according to five European officials,” writes the NYT, which states that “European diplomats are working on a framework for future negotiations aimed at safeguarding European interests, which would be led by France, Germany and the United Kingdom”. “France and Germany are taking a leading role in developing the European position, according to two senior European diplomats and a senior European official closely following the initiative.
