(LaPresse) – The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has claimed 2,325 lives, surpassing the death toll from the 2018–2020 outbreak and becoming the deadliest in the country’s history. This is according to government data cited by the British media. The Democratic Republic of the Congo’s public health institute stated in its latest report that confirmed cases have risen to 4,945, including 101 new cases detected in the previous 24 hours. The latest government figures show that the total number of deaths has exceeded the 2,299 recorded during the 2018–2020 outbreak.
