Rome, Aug. 17 (LaPresse) – Carlos Alcaraz begins the decisive week to determine whether he will be able to return to play at the US Open, the final Grand Slam of the season. The seven-time Grand Slam champion has been looking for a high-level sparring partner. And on Monday he was seen training with Holger Rune. Alcaraz has not played since suffering a wrist injury on April 14 against Otto Virtanen in the first round in Barcelona. He has missed two Grand Slams, Roland Garros and Wimbledon, and four Masters 1000 events: Madrid, Rome, Montreal and Cincinnati. The race against time continues to be ready for the US Open.
