Milan, Aug. 18 (LaPresse) – World No. 3 and No. 1 seed Alexander Zverev won his 46th match of the season, the most on the ATP Tour, and advanced to the round of 16 of the ‘Cincinnati Open’, the seventh ATP Masters 1000 event of the season (prize money $9,415,725), being played on the hard courts of the Lindner Family Tennis Center in the Ohio metropolis. The Roland Garros champion defeated France’s Terence Atmane 7-6 (4), 7-6 (6). Alex de Minaur (5) also advanced, with the Australian defeating Britain’s Arthur Fery (32) 7-5, 7-6 (3). Rising Spanish star Rafael Jodar (12) also went through, defeating Chile’s Alejandro Tabilo (22) 6-2, 6-1. Also worth noting was Frenchman Arthur Fils’ (21) victory over Czech Jiri Lehecka (9), 6-1, 6-7 (7), 6-3. In Monday’s other results, in women’s singles, defending Cincinnati champion Iga Swiatek came from a set down to win her eighth consecutive match, defeating Maria Sakkari 4-6, 6-1, 6-1. No. 2 seed Elena Rybakina defeated Magdalena Frech 6-4, 7-6. World No. 3 Jessica Pegula defeated compatriot Emma Navarro 7-5, 6-2.
