Milan, 21 August (LaPresse) – Following MPS’s official announcement regarding the two bids for Banco BPM and Banca Generali, Intesa Sanpaolo is working to examine the matter in greater depth. According to sources working on the matter, “in light of events over the last few days and hours and the obvious issues that have emerged, Intesa Sanpaolo’s legal team is carrying out a thorough review to assess whether to submit observations and considerations to Consob to safeguard market integrity and ensure all shareholders are properly informed”. Intesa Sanpaolo launched a public takeover bid for Montepaschi last June, followed by an agreement with Unipol.
