Rome, 21 Aug. (LaPresse) – George Russell has secured pole position ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix sprint race, the first round of the World Championship following the summer break. The Mercedes driver finished ahead of Lando Norris’s McLaren, with Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari in third place on the second row alongside Oscar Piastri’s other McLaren. Kimi Antonelli was only fifth in his Mercedes. The World Championship leader finished ahead of Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and Lewis Hamilton’s second Ferrari. Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) will start last. For Russell, this is his third sprint pole position following those secured earlier this year in China and Canada.
