Kyiv (Ukraine), 22 Aug. (LaPresse/AP) – The death toll from yesterday’s Russian drone attack on a shopping centre in the city of Kryvyi Rih, in central Ukraine, has risen to 16. The governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Oleksandr Hanzha, reported early this morning that the death toll had risen to 16, whilst nine people are still missing. A further 130 people were injured in the attack. Kryvyi Rih is the birthplace of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The attack was a ‘double-tap’ attack, meaning it was carried out in two waves: an initial wave of drones struck the area, followed by a second wave whilst rescue workers were engaged in emergency operations.
