Milan, Aug. 22 (LaPresse) – “Rising oil prices, the continuously escalating situation in the Strait of Hormuz and the fuel excise duty discount nearing its expiry: these are the factors we are facing. Increases in prices at the pump across the fuel network have already begun and we have exceeded 2.20 euros per liter for diesel. If the government does not intervene with new measures, prices will increase in a single day to reach 2.40 euros per liter, if not more, from Tuesday, August 25. We must in fact consider that we are in a period of sharp growth in oil prices.” Michele Marsiglia, president of Federpetroli, told LaPresse. “We await new measures from the government that can help Italians return from their summer holidays,” he concluded.
