We have to focus on ourselves. Our starting eleven has become well established, and we are trying to make the squad more competitive with players who can add value.” Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini said this during a press conference on the eve of the Serie A match against Fiorentina. “As a squad, we are more competitive, with players who have shown that they really wanted to play for Roma. There are teams such as Fiorentina and others that are doing important things because it is in their DNA. We have to focus on our own path and on the possibilities available to us,” he added. Asked whether Roma can challenge for the Scudetto, Gasperini replied: “We also have to see what the others do. We need to follow our own path and try to do our best with the resources we have. I am convinced we will do well. We have to start by thinking about Fiorentina, who have done a lot in the transfer market. We need motivation and the desire to build on last season.” On the transfer market, he added: “I am very satisfied with the players who have arrived.
