Palermo, Aug. 25 (LaPresse) – The Messina Prosecutor’s Office, headed by Antonio D’Amato, has placed under investigation for false testimony one of the four custodians on duty on the evening of August 15 at the Regional Museum of Messina, where a gang of professional thieves stole six paintings by Antonello da Messina, abandoning two of them during their escape. The custodian had been summoned in recent days for a new questioning as a person informed of the facts, but during the interview the prosecutors decided to stop and investigate him over the repeated contradictions in his account.
