Genoa, 25 Aug. (LaPresse) – Investigators are looking into the possibility that the lifeguard who carried out the rescue – which ended in a double tragedy – on the coast of Andora this morning in the Savona area may have suffered a sudden illness. During a rescue operation to assist a couple in distress off the stretch of coast opposite Sacra Famiglia beach, a lifeguard and a swimmer died. The swimmer, L.F., was a 66-year-old man from Cuneo. The lifeguard on duty at the beach, F.V., was 62 years old and had just managed to bring the wife of the deceased man to safety. Investigations are underway to establish the circumstances of the incident.
