Milan, 26 Aug. (LaPresse) – Ukrainian forces have resumed attacks on Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, following several days of attacks on its competitor Ozon. The Kyiv Independent reports this, citing the monitoring channel Exilenova Plus, which states that a Wildberries logistics hub was struck by Ukrainian forces in Kotovsk, in the Tambov Oblast, causing a fire at the facility. The governor of Tambov Oblast, Yevgeny Pervyshov, subsequently reported that the Wildberries facility was struck during “a massive drone attack” on the region. The fire at the site affected an area of over 100,000 square metres, he said, adding that a Wildberries employee was injured during the attack. The last reported Ukrainian attack on Wildberries took place on 16 August, when the company’s largest logistics hub was struck during a major attack on the Moscow Oblast, according to the Ukrainian General Staff. In recent days, however, Ukrainian forces have targeted facilities belonging to Ozon, Wildberries’ main competitor. On 24 August, Ukraine launched a large-scale night-time attack against Russia, striking, among other targets, Ozon’s logistics centres, the Kombinat Kamenskiy defence industry plant and a MiG-29 fighter jet, according to reports from the Ukrainian armed forces. Ozon’s logistics centres were also reportedly hit in the Samara Oblast, Russia, on 22 August, and in the city of Orenburg on the night of 23 August.
