Rome, Aug. 26 (LaPresse) – Fifth consecutive victory at the CEV Trendyol EuroVolley 2026 for Julio Velasco’s Azzurre, who beat France and finish top of Pool D at the end of their group-stage campaign. Italy won 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 25-23, 25-19), completing a week in Gothenburg with five consecutive victories. The national team’s campaign will continue in Brno, Czech Republic, where Italy will play in the round of 16 against the fourth-placed team in Pool B. The opponent will be determined at the end of the group stage. Pool D will conclude tomorrow, Thursday, August 27, with Croatia-Montenegro at 4 p.m. and Sweden-France at 7 p.m. The final group standings and the full lineup of round-of-16 matchups will be determined after the two games.
