Milan, 27 Aug. (LaPresse) – Franco Colapinto will continue to race in Formula 1 with Alpine next season, after the Enstone-based team announced that he will partner Pierre Gasly in a confirmed line-up. The Argentine driver had joined Alpine as a reserve driver for 2025, before becoming a full-time driver from the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix onwards, replacing Jack Doohan. He was confirmed for this season and has since scored 19 points across six Grand Prix races, helping, alongside Gasly, to secure sixth place in the constructors’ championship. Executive adviser Flavio Briatore said: “We are delighted to confirm our driver line-up for 2027, with Franco remaining a regular driver alongside Pierre. For me, continuity is key. We are now sorted in terms of drivers and, as I have said many times, whilst this is an important piece of the jigsaw, the most important thing we must focus on is designing and building a fast car, which remains our top priority.”
