Milan, 27 Aug. (LaPresse) – Judge Alberto Carboni has rejected the request for house arrest for Alessandro Chiani, a 20-year-old sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment for the assault that took place on Corso Como in Milan on 12 October 2025. Represented by lawyer Amedeo Rizza, the request to replace his prison sentence with house arrest was submitted on 24 August. Two days later, the civil parties filed a defence brief asking for the application to be rejected, highlighting, amongst other things, that “they have never perceived any genuine and sincere remorse on the part of Alessandro Chiani regarding what happened”. In the judge’s view, Chiani did not admit to the charges, but “merely admitted” what the CCTV cameras on Corso Como had captured on the evening of the attack, namely that “it was he who had inflicted the stab wound that endangered Davide Cavallo’s life”.
